Trent surprised me today by taking me snorkeling. We drove up to La Jolla, under pretense of seeing an outdoor concert, and then out of a giant bag in the trunk came blue fins, a mask and my wetsuit.
It was, at first, a bit scary, but soon I got used to it, and enjoyed swimming hand in hand with T, while we chased orange fish across a bed of green, without delving into any subconcious issues about the ocean. I've always loved Cousteau specials, and any underwater photography, but this was many times more amazing, as it was through no other lens that I was experiencing the ocean.
I want to go back, excited not only by the grace and aesthetic beauty of what I can observe underwater, but that I want to be there inside and surrounded by the ocean.
